Westminster, Md. – (March 16, 2009) — Members of the pop rock band, All Time Low, recently donated nearly $2,000 from proceeds of a recent concert, to the Carroll Hospital Center Foundation on March 6.
Band members, Jack Barakat and Rian Dawson, presented the check to Andrew Green, M.D., board member of the Carroll Hospital Center Foundation, after raising the funds during a concert held at the Faith Community United Methodist Church of Hamilton in Baltimore, last December. The band decided to make the donation to support the many programs and services at the hospital, a place where Barakat’s father, Bassam Barakat, M.D., OB/GYN, has worked for nine years.
All Time Low, a four-member band from Lutherville-Timonium, Md., has quickly gained popularity since forming in 2003. The band, consisting of guitarist Barakat, 20, lead vocalist Alex Gaskarth, 21, bassist Zack Merrick, 20, and drummer Dawson, 21, has released two CDs to date, with a third one to be released this summer. The band also has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, this year’s MTV New Year’s Eve special, hosted by singer Miley Cyrus, and continues to perform on various stages while on tour across the country.
All Time Low performs several concerts for charities each year and hopes to hold more benefit concerts for Carroll Hospital Center in the near future.
Carroll Hospital Center, founded in 1961 as Carroll County General Hospital, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
